Panne unsuccessful in Springs
It was not the best start to the pre-season campaign for Brakpan Rugby Club’s first XV when they attended the Springs Rugby Day on February 10.
The ‘Panne’ met the Naka Bulle from Pretoria and were on the wrong side of a 27-12 defeat.
The Pretorians were quickly ahead on the scoreboard after two quick tries.
At halftime they found themselves 22-0 down before Brakpan launched an attempted comeback.
Panne’s fullback Tiaan Vorster and returning veteran Shaun Botes scored their only two tries of the clash.
