Tune in to Martin Erasmus wrestling for gold in Commonwealth Games final
The Brakpan wrestler is going for gold.
Brakpan Wrestling Club’s Martin Erasmus is wrestling for a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in under an hour’s time.
According to South Africa Wrestling Federation Media Liaison Gussie Bartlett, the Brakpan bulldog will take to the mat between 10am and 11am this morning in the men’s freestyle 92kg division.
Erasmus downed Samuel Belkin of New Zealand by virtue or a technical superiority decision, amassing a total of 10 technical points, in his first match.

He then went on to beat Australian Nicolaas Verreynne in the quarter-final and then Canada’s Jordan Steen in the semi-finals to set up a gold-medal match against India’s Mausam Khatri.
The match will be broadcast on SuperSport channel 214.
