Tigers show teeth at PTA champs

The athletes competed in kyorugi (sparring) and poomsae (patterns) against athletes from different clubs as well as from other African countries.

Brakpan Tigers Taekwondo sent a team to the Tuks Taekwondo Championship hosted by the University of Pretoria Taekwondo Club recently.

“The championship went well and the Tigers team had four fighters competing,” said sabum Eltonlee Mumvuma, club instructor.

“The competitors were our young school captain Lehumo Modike, Destiny Matshika, Bongani Khumalo and Nondumiso Modike.

“The team fought very well and came out with two bronze medals for kyorugi/sparring from the school vice-captain Bongani and from Destiny.”
