SuperSport United help launch stadium
SuperSport United Football Club, currently sitting in the top eight of the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL), will, on Saturday, March 7, unleash the club’s u-13 and u-15 teams to take on Ekurhuleni primary and secondary schools, at the newly built Tsakane stadium.
That is not all.
Football fans are set to experience an exhilarating head-to-head clash between SuperSport’s Reserve team against a Brakpan invitation XI.
The Brakpan invitation XI consists of some of the stars of the local football scene.
The highly anticipated games between the local young stars and SuperSport United will serve as the launch of the 10 000 capacity stadium.
The R78-million multi-purpose facility is built for various sporting codes such as football, netball, tennis and volleyball.
“The promotion of sports is vital for social cohesion and coexistence in our society,” said metro spokesman Themba Gadebe.
“It also serves as an incubator for the development of future sporting stars.”
n Meanwhile, children from the ages of five to 16 years old will be introduced to the sport of golf through clinics at the nearby driving range.
Furthermore, netball, volleyball and basketball are some of the sporting codes set to captivate sports fans during the official launch of Tsakane Stadium.
The launch will start at 8.30am on Saturday at the Tsakane Stadium, corner Zulu and Modjadji streets.
