Eclectic and diverse mix of comedy
The inimitable South African funnyman, Trevor Gumbi will headline in the Business Premium Comedy Festival at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on August 21.
The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) nominee will be joined by a string of other well-known and up-and-coming comedians for the not-to-be-missed comedy event. The audience can also look forward to the outrageous, Kagiso Lediga, TallAssmo, Siya B, Celeste Ntuli and Thapelo Tips.
Brought to Brakpan by Thikho Events, the Business Premium Comedy Festival promises comedy fans an eclectic and diverse mix of comedy, with something that will appeal to all types of humour.
The comedy festival will be followed by the Business Premium Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 22, for a weekend of jam-packed entertainment.
“In August we are thrilled to welcome to our stage some of South Africa’s sought-after and emerging comic talent,” said Matthew Cook, the entertainment and events manager at Carnival City.
“The Business Premium Comedy Festival promises a diverse mix of comedy for an evening of non-stop laughter.”
Stand-up comedian Gumbi is host, head writer and voice-over artist of Mzansi Magic’s Headline, which is a glamorous magazine show that brings viewers closer to celebrities in South Africa.
Gumbi also writes and stars in SABC 1’s sitcom Ses’Top La and hosted Mzansi Magic’s travel show Msawawa True South with Trevor Gumbi.
While outspoken and sometimes controversial, Gumbi is a firm favourite in the corporate market, where he can be found entertaining executives and their staff with tailored material, proving that he has the ability to adapt rapidly and appropriately for diverse audiences.
