The Last Man Standing CrossFit competition was held at Supersport Park, in Centurion, recently.
Participating athletes had to compete in three different workouts on the Saturday and one workout on the Sunday morning.
Ater the four different workouts, the top athletes competed in the final workout on Sunday afternoon.
The competition attracted over 500 athletes from all over the country.
There were different divisions, namely:
CrossFit Noise 1540, based in Van Eck Park, had nine competitors, four of whom were participating in their very first competition.
In the beginners’ division, Hein Barnard finished in 30th place, while Gerhard Brits and Pokka Nel finished 101st.
Janine Strydom came 23rd in the women’s beginner divisions, while, in the intermediate division, Wesley Sales finished in 114th place, Igor Engelbrecht in 134th place and Willem Barnard in 151st place.
Elaine du Plooy went to the final and finished in 19th place overall.
CrossFit Noise 1540 also had one entry in the master’s division, Lara Dabner, who ended in fourth place overall after the weekend of gruelling workouts.
“We are exceptionally proud of each and every one of our athletes and want to thank our CrossFit family for their support over the two days of competition,” said Dabner.
