Brakpan powerlifter takes home two gold medals from national champs

The local powerlifter, also known for his slap fighting, took home the gold in his division.

Brakpan powerlifter, Pieter “Bulldog” Vorster, also a super heavyweight two-time slapfight champion in the Punisher Slapfight tournament, gained two more gold medals on June 19 in Durban.

He competed in the South African Strict Arm Curl Federation national championships, in the Men’s Master Class 4 (age 55–59) division, where he lifted 45kg in the strict arm curl and 80kg with the freestanding curl.

His next step is the African championship, which will also take place in Durban in September, and he hopes a world championship will take place next year, which he also aims to qualify for.

“To everyone who supported me and sponsored me, thank you very much. I don’t have words to describe my gratitude,” he said.
