Marceghlle, a learner of Jongspan Primary School, ran in the North West Province Cross Country Championships at the rag farm in Potchefstroom on Saturday, 17 August.
He was the runner-up in his item with a time of 11:18 – just 19 seconds slower than the winner.
Marceghlle’s time qualified him for the National Championships, where he will represent North West Province. The event will take place in Pretoria on 7 September.
