Khutsong sisters crowned in Miss Carletonville 2025, inspiring despite hardship

Their single mother, Lebohang, continues to support their modelling dreams despite financial challenges.

Two sisters from Khutsong are taking the local modelling world by storm after winning top titles at the Miss Carletonville 2025 pageant.

Mohau Mokejane, a learner at Nayaboswa Primary School, was crowned Miss Carletonville 2025, while her older sister, Nthuteng Mokejane (17) of Badirile Secondary School, earned the title of First Princess in the same competition.

Their remarkable success comes despite growing up in a disadvantaged household in Khutsong Extension 3. The siblings are raised by their mother, Lebohang, a single parent and unemployed qualified security guard with computer skills who has previously worked on municipal projects.

Lebohang says she is determined to help her daughters follow their dreams no matter the challenges. “They have already asked me to register them for the Mr & Miss Merafong Elite pageant next year,” she said.

The Mokejane sisters’ story is an inspiration to many, proving that talent and determination can shine through even in the face of hardship.

Those who wish to assist the family can contact Lebohang on 069 574 7349.
