Khutsong Kwaito artist Mafeshion celebrates 20 years with new single release
Khutsong-born Kwaito artist Jabulani Tembe, known as Mafeshion, celebrates 20 years in the music industry with the release of his new single “Makhandizinto” and shares his vision to create opportunities for young people in his community.
Jabulani Tembe is a 42-year-old known as “Mafeshion,” meaning a fashion lover. He is a Kwaito artist from Khutsong Township. He is currently celebrating 20 years in the music industry with his return to the game, having released a new song this year.
The passionate artist mentioned that he started his journey in 2006 while studying at Westcol. He managed to record his first song at Thortz Production in Carletonville with a producer known as Elijah “El Note” Mathipa.
He has so far released a project consisting of 10 songs, as well as two music videos. He is currently planning to shoot a new music video for his new song, “Makhandizinto,” meaning “the guy who makes things happen,” which he said was a name passed on to him by his late grandfather.
The new single was officially released on 26 February and is available on Spotify and all digital platforms.
“I will be releasing a digital mixtape titled ‘Azishe Music,’ and my vision with my talent and music career is to eventually create jobs for the youth in my community,” he expressed.
His message to others is to keep pushing and never give up in life.
