Local author empowers writers through self-publishing journey

Motseki “Quan” Rabotapi, a local author and founder of QDot Publishing, is creating opportunities for aspiring writers by sharing his self-publishing journey and helping others get their work officially published.

Local author Motseki “Quan” Rabotapi has embarked on a quest to create opportunities for other authors, having successfully self-published three of his own books. He is also a facilitator and an assessor who began his writing journey in 2013 and published his first book in 2014, titled Get What You Want.

His second book was completed in 2023 and published in 2024, titled 360 Full Circle Mantra. His current book, How To Say I Love You, was conceptualised over the years and was completed and published in 2025.

“All my books are self-published, meaning that from the concept of the book to printing and selling it, everything was done independently as it was self-financed. When you have a vision, you have to sacrifice something in order to achieve it,” he expressed.

He mentioned that he was motivated by the philosophy that he has to leave the world a better place than he found it.

He is also running a publishing company called QDot Publishing, which focuses on helping self-publishers by assisting independent writers and up-and-coming authors to get their work officially published.

“I ventured into writing because I have a need to create a culture of reading in my community, because most of our solutions are written in books,” he concluded.

He can be contacted on Facebook: Motseki Rabotapi or via email at [email protected] or on 076 727 0910.
