ANC retains Khutsong Ward 10 in by-election victory

The party secured a majority with 684 votes, keeping the ward under its leadership.

The ANC walked off as winners during the by-election held in Batswaneng in Khutsong last week.

The by-election was held on November 26 in Ward 10 of Khutsong following the passing of ANC ward councillor Thabo Raymond Masiu.

Masiu passed away on September 3 after a period of illness.

His death triggered the constitutional requirement for a by-election to fill the vacant council seat.

The ANC managed to keep the ward after securing the majority of votes.

A total of 684 residents voted for this political party. The EFF managed to secure 279 votes, ActionSA 226 votes, MK / MKP 138 votes, the DA 50 votes, and the PAC 22 votes.

Tshepiso Chester Sekgothudi is the new ward councillor.
