A teenager from Welverdiend went through a terrible ordeal over the past festive season.
The police are investigating a rape case after the girl (12) shared what happened to her with a female relative (52) this week.
The girl revealed that a family friend who had visited them in December and January had raped her during the visit.
The relative reported the matter to Carletonville SAPS. The victim was taken to Carletonville Hospital for medical examination.
The suspect had not been arrested by printing time.
