Multiple accidents reported on N12 over long weekend, no fatalities recorded

Emergency services respond to several incidents near Fochville, while SANRAL repairs hazardous pothole affecting motorists

Although there were several smaller accidents on roads in the area over the long weekend, no one died.

The beginning of the weekend was quiet, but emergency services had their hands full on April 26. The police in Fochville, ER24, the fire department, and Droogtes Insleepdiens had to wait on the side of the N12 for hours after a vehicle drove into a stream just after Mponeng Mine.

Luckily, other motorists stopped and helped the driver get out of the vehicle.

In another accident, a vehicle smashed through a wall near the Kraalkop Hotel.

Another three vehicles were damaged in a collision at the entrance to Khotsoville near Kokosi.

Meanwhile, several vehicles were damaged at a large pothole on the N12. The pothole developed on the Johannesburg side of the N12 about 40km from Potchefstroom.

Sanral repaired this pothole on April 28.
