Carletonville resident kidnapped and hijacked outside home in midnight attack

A 47-year-old resident was hijacked outside his home in Lignite Street, Carletonville during the early hours of May 4.

A resident (47) was hijacked outside his home in Lignite Street, Carletonville.

The incident happened at about 00:30 on May 4 after arriving in his Toyota Quantum.

Two armed men, speaking isiZulu and isiXhosa, demanded, the minibus keys and keys to his sister’s tavern, assaulting him when he could not provide them.

The thugs also searched the resident and took all the money he had.

They forced him into the vehicle, later dropping him off near the R501, and later returned to his home to steal money inside.

Police are investigating hijacking, kidnapping and house burglary charges.
