Armed house robbers strike home in Carletonville Ext 9

Three intruders tied up a resident during a late-night robbery in Rautenbach Street before fleeing with electronics and cash.

House robbers targeted a home in Carletonville Ext 9 over the past weekend. The crime occurred on May 8, just before midnight in Rautenbach Street.

The 37-year-old resident was sleeping when the sound of his bedroom door opening woke him.

Three unknown men entered the room, and two of these intruders were armed with handguns.

The men spoke isiZulu and Shangaan during the encounter.

They demanded money from the resident, but when he explained that he had nothing to give them, they tied his hands and feet together with wire.

The group then searched the house and stole a plasma TV, a laptop, a mobile phone, and some cash before they fled the scene.
