Armed robbers target elderly woman and her family in Oberholzer

Four masked suspects tied up three women and ransacked a home in Adorp Street before fleeing when they failed to steal a vehicle.

A group of robbers struck another house in Oberholzer this week.

This crime took place on May 15. The 82-year-old victim was asleep in her house in Adorp Street at about 02:00. She was woken up by four unknown men standing next to her bed.

The men were masked and armed. They discovered the pensioner’s three adult daughters in the sitting room and tied their hands and feet with wire. They then started to ransack the house.

The robbers took a television set, laptops, cellphones and clothes. Although the thugs also wanted to steal a vehicle outside the house, they could not find the keys and ran away.

Police later determined that the robbers had gained entry to the house through the garage, after which they climbed through the window of the bathroom connected to the main bedroom.
