Kokosi Primary School named finalist in Gauteng schools competition

The school’s Soul Buddies group impressed judges with creative Springbok artwork and financial literacy skills.

Kokosi Primary School has been named as one of the finalists in the provincial section of a national competition.

According Dipuo Qupe, a dedicated teacher at Kokosi Primary School, the school’s Soul Buddies group was recently chosen as one of the 10 finalists in Gauteng in the national Kool 2B South African Colours of National Pride Schools competition.

To qualify, learners had to showcase special talent in bringing one our country’s national symbols, the Springbok, to life through art. They also showed their knowledge of financial literacy.

The school has also nominated five learners to form a special voting strategy committee.

Qupe herself also received the prestigious Best Soul Buddies Facilitator award for the Gauteng West region last year.

Voting for the Kool 2B South African Colours of National Pride Schools competition is free and done exclusively via WhatsApp. Readers who want to vote must WhatsApp the exact hashtag #MySoSuperKoolFlagSchool, followed by the name Kokosi Primary School, to 1336.
