Wedela police donate essential care packages to learners in need

Wedela police officers have donated toiletries and clothing to vulnerable learners at three local schools, while school principals appeal for further community support to help children in need.

Police officers in Wedela have stepped in to support local school children in need by donating essential items.

On May 21, the Wedela Police social crime prevention officer, Sergeant Zikhona Sifuba, and domestic violence co-ordinator Sergeant Makinta, visited Wedela Primary School, Xhobani Primary School, and Wedela Technical High School.

During the visit, the officers handed over care packages to the school principals, who will distribute them to the children who need them most.

The packs contained various essential items, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and T-shirts.

Sifuba noted that the school principals were delighted to receive the donations.

However, the principals also highlighted that many of their pupils are still struggling and that the schools are in desperate need of further donations, particularly toiletries.

Members of the public who wish to support this cause and help the children can contact the schools directly or reach out to Sergeant Sifuba on 071 675 7389.
