A 36-year-old resident was murdered at the Carletonville taxi rank on May 29 at around 17:30.

The victim was inside the rank, an area he was known to visit often, when three unknown men reportedly approached him.

An argument broke out between the victim and the suspects, who then pulled out firearms and shot him before fleeing the scene.

It is understood that the deceased had no connections to the local minibus taxi industry. Carletonville Police are currently investigating a case of murder.
