Wedela police and health officials bring essential services

The outreach event at the local taxi rank focused on strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community, raising awareness about domestic violence, introducing new SAPS members, and making essential government services more accessible to residents.

Members of the police in Wedela visited Ext 3 to build a closer bond with residents.

According to Sergeant Zikhona Sifuba, members of the police in Wedela joined staff from the Department of Health on May 25.

The officials gathered at the taxi rank, where they engaged with the public.

The police members talked to the public about domestic violence and also introduced new members of the Wedela SAPS to them.

They also assisted the public with certification, which meant that community members did not have to travel to the other side of town for this service.

The Department of Health’s mobile clinic rendered services to the community.

The action raised awareness about the services available to the public.

A total of 32 community members attended the action.
