Youth Day celebration brings energy and unity to Khutsong South

Young people showcase their talents through dance, skateboarding, and custom bikes while learning about the importance of voting.

Youth Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and community spirit at Khutsong South Extension 4 on Tuesday, June 16.

Although there was no formal programme, the event attracted a vibrant crowd of young people and community members who gathered to commemorate the significance of Youth Day. Attendees participated in a variety of recreational activities that highlighted the talents, creativity, and energy of local youth.

The day’s activities included choreographed dance performances, displays of customised bicycles, and skateboarding demonstrations. These activities provided young people with an opportunity to showcase their skills while promoting positive forms of recreation.

Participants also received information about the importance of registering to vote and exercising their democratic right to vote once they reach the age of 18.

The event was regarded as a success by community members and served as a reminder of the importance of prioritising the needs and development of young people. Several councillors attended the celebration, using the opportunity to engage with residents and strengthen relationships between local leadership and the community.

Organisers and attendees alike expressed hope that such initiatives will continue to empower and inspire young people while fostering unity within the community.
