Woman escapes unharmed after gunmen open fire on vehicle near Carletonville mine

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a motorist's car was struck by multiple bullets on a mine road near East Driefontein.

Carletonville Police are investigating an attempted murder case after a resident survived a terrifying ordeal on her way to work this week.

The 39-year-old woman was driving on the mine road near the East Driefontein 4 Shaft at around 21:15 on June 9, when she suddenly heard several gunshots.

Rather than stopping, she bravely drove on until she reached a safe location.

When she pulled over to inspect her vehicle, she discovered four bullet holes in the car.

Fortunately, she was not injured during the shooting.
