Police seek witnesses to serious Carletonville crash

A woman suffered serious leg injuries after an overturned vehicle struck her following a collision between a car and a bakkie.

Carletonville detectives are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed a serious accident in the town earlier this month.

The collision occurred at the corner of Agate Street and Agnew Drive at about 17:49 on June 10.

According to police, the driver of a blue Toyota Etios was travelling along Agnew Drive when his vehicle was struck by a white bakkie. The impact caused the Toyota to overturn and crash into a pedestrian standing on the side of the road.

Although the woman saw the collision and tried to run to safety, she was unable to get out of the way in time and sustained serious injuries to her legs.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Constable Eva Vilakazi on 060 889 0235.
