Kokosi foundation raises awareness of gender-based violence
The Woman of God Foundation and New Efese Church joined forces for a Women's Month outreach focused on healing, empowerment and educating women about gender-based violence and femicide.
Over the past weekend, the Kokosi non-profit organisation Woman of God Foundation teamed up with the New Efese Church for a Women’s Month celebration that raised awareness of gender-based violence.
Hosted under the theme “Chosen for such a time as this” and led by Bishop and Lady Bishop Mbaliso, the church opened its doors for an outreach focused on healing, empowerment, and educating women on gender-based violence and femicide.
New Efese members mobilised to provide support in community care, prayer ministry, and hospitality. Gladys Baloyi, founder of the Woman of God Foundation, explained that the outreach served as a platform to educate, equip, and connect women and girls to vital resources while offering spiritual encouragement.
Another speaker at the event noted that women and girls are valued and not forgotten, while emphasising the shared responsibility to stand with those affected by violence and be a voice for the voiceless.
Baloyi added that the intersection of faith and community is where healing happens, noting that the church is well-positioned to offer hope and practical support.
Tshepiso Raditlhalo, a foundation member, thanked New Efese for their commitment to the community in helping create a safe space to restore women and provide hope.
The Woman of God Foundation continues to partner with local leaders and churches to fight gender-based violence and ensure survivors receive support and dignity.
