Robbers pretending to be police officers strike at East Drie

She was luckily not injured.

A group of robbers pretending to be police officers attacked a woman and her son at East Driefontein this week.

This crime took place on October 8.

A resident (42) of Thembelihle Phase 2 was asleep in her home at about 14:13.

She suddenly woke up to three unknown men in her house.

One of the thugs, who was armed, at first pretended to be a police officer who was sent to her home because of a theft. While he talked to her, his two accomplices started to search her house.

They then tied the woman and her son up and grabbed her stokvel money as well as other money that she had been saving.

They also demanded her bank card and PIN.

Luckily, the woman managed to untie herself and went to the Carletonville Police Station to report the incident.
