Some Merafong voting stations currently quiet

As far as could be determined, the voting station at Laerskool Fochville opened late.

After an early morning rush some of the voting stations in our area are currently quiet.

Voting at the Oberholzer Magistrates Court, where voters usually stand in long queues, is currently very quiet. About 30 minutes ago voters could go in without queueing at all.

Voters in Welverdiend also report on social media that the voting station at Laerskool De Beer is also very quiet.

“In and out in under 10 minutes,” one voter reported.

In the meantime, voting in Fochville seems to be busier.

Although some voters voting at Laerskool Losberg earlier this morning reported long queues, a voter who finished at this voting station said it took him about 20 minutes.

Although no big problems have been reported so far, voters at Laerskool Fochville had to wait when the voting station opened as there was no voter’s list available.
