Twenty-one children injured in accident Reinecke Street in Carletonville

21 children were left injured this morning when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided on Reinecke Street in Carletonville.

ER24 medics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 07h15 to find both the light motor vehicle and taxi on the side of the road.

The passengers had already climbed out of the taxi and were now found seated on the side of the road.

Medics assessed the patients and found that 21 children, aged between 12 and 18, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.

It is understood that the children were on their way to school when the collision occurred.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
