Fochville is West Rand’s cleanest police station

The police in Fochville recently scooped various awards during a district awards function.

Members of police stations from the West Rand gathered at the Engedi Function Venue in Krugersdorp on 5 September to find out who the winners were. Fochville walked away as the winner of the cleanest police station category. The station commander, Lt-Col Phumelele Matamela, received the award.
An official at the station, Mrs Petronella van der Merwe took the award for the best administrator, Level 5 to 7.
A detective from Fochville, WO Solomon Ramulondo, was the runner-up in the category for best crime investigators.
Lt-Col Matamela applauded the members for going the extra mile while serving their community. The West Rand district commissioner, Maj.-Genl Fred Kekana encouraged all police officers to perform their duties with distinction. He said they should always try and serve everyone with dignity and respect and treat them equally, irrespective of age, colour or nationality.
