Several problems bother the residents of a busy street in Greenspark.

Patrys Street, which borders Greenspark Primary School, has so many deep potholes that there is more gravel than tar on its surface. To make matters worse, the stormwater drains have collapsed.

“Water always dams up in the street. It often floods our yards too,” complains Mr Antonio Fortuin, one of the residents living in the street,

Fortuin pointed out that many maintenance holes also overflow, and the street lights are out of order. Many of them are broken. A large amount of litter is strewn on the sidewalks outside the school’s fence.

“Things have been like this for a few years. We complain to the municipality, but they never do anything,” Fortuin complained.

The Herald took the issues to the Merafong City Local Municipality. The municipality did not respond, however.
