Man murdered in Reinecke Street

A resident was murdered in Carletonville under mysterious circumstances this week.

The incident happened on Thursday, 29 June.
A member of the Carletonville police was patrolling Reinecke Street at approximately 22:30 when attendants of the filling station at the Dolomite Street corner stopped him.
They reported hearing gunshots nearby, and he went to investigate.
He soon discovered a red Toyota panel van with Mpumalanga registration plates that had driven into a ditch on Topaz Street.
The driver was still behind the steering wheel, covered in blood.
The police called an ambulance, but the driver was dead upon arrival.
He had been shot twice in his head, presumably through the open window on the driver’s side.
The police are investigating a murder case following the incident.
