Man falls in sinkhole
The man is currently being rescued from a sinkhole near Carletonville.
Various authorities are currently at the scene near Carletonville to save a man who has fallen into a sinkhole.
Apparently passers-by noticed the man inside the sinkhole this morning. Various authorities including the SAPS, fire department, the Merafong City Local Municipality and representatives of the mines are currently at the site near the Rooipoort rubbish dump.
The Herald already notified the municipality of this sinkhole in 2020.
“The sinkhole is currently not endangering any municipal infrastructure,” the municipal spokesperson answered on 23 June 2020.
It is not sure why the municipality has not attended to the sinkhole since this time.
