Wedela SAPS gets new building

Mining house helps SAPS and patrollers.

Harmony Gold gifted the Wedela police with an extra building this week.

This police station operates from an old house on 2nd Avenue, near the side of the town.

According to the station commander, Capt. Mavis Ravhudzulo, the police station has been too small for years.

The new four-office container will greatly assist in giving the members enough space to do their work.

The officers who previously worked from another building behind the main police station house, will move to the new container offices. The detectives, who, until now, had been crammed into random offices, will have their own section of the police station.

Harmony Gold also donated warm winter jackets and special torches to Wedela’s police patrollers, who play an important role in reducing crime in this town.
