An ambulance rushed a Kokosi mother to the hospital after a stray bullet hit her in her bedroom on April 30.
The 40-year-old woman was praying in her room in Extension 6 at about 04:30 when she suddenly heard about three gunshots.
Unfortunately, a bullet shattered her window and struck her on the back of her right shoulder. The woman realised the bullet had hit her and ran to her children’s bedroom for cover.
She called for help and received treatment at the Carletonville Hospital.
Police later found a 9 mm bullet at the scene and are now investigating an attempted murder case. As far as could be determined no one had been arrested yet.
