On my mind – Stay humble and kind

Staying humble. You’ve probably heard it all your life and it’s a unique phrase, used to those who are humble, a very hard thing to find and achieve. In the world we live in, we are sometimes forced to prove ourselves and our ego tends to catch up rather quickly. Staying humble means not having to brag about any particular achievement you have achieved and, in so doing, making other people feel demotivated. Instead of looking down on people, help and encourage them to reach their dreams. Remember when you, as an individual, struggled to get where you wanted to be, because people were looking down on you. You most certainly got your motivation from someone who believed in you and encouraged you. Staying humble means knowing your place exactly, having that sense of humility, the ability to outmatch one’s ego and also to accept somebody or something as it is with no judgement at all. I’m quite sure everyone knows the golden rule, kill them with kindness. Sadly, not everyone takes it to heart. Kindness can really go a long way, but it is sometimes regarded as a sign of weakness – which it definitely is not. Another important part of staying humble is never forgetting where you
come from. When you have accomplished whatever you wanted in your life and start getting lots of money, never forget where you come from – or the people you were with while you had nothing. I have seen a lot of people lose everything they had, even the people who cared and were always there for them. We should never allow ego and pride to get to us. Ego is a sense of what one is, pride is a sense of worth in one’s accomplishments. Never allow these two things to control your life. Stay humble, good people.
