Matric results to be released

The wait is over as Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will be announcing class of 2013 matric results.

JOHANNESBURG – Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will on Monday, January 6 release the 2013 NSC Matric Results at the SABC studios.

Learners will be able to find results at schools, in print and online media the following day on Tuesday January 7. A total of 576 90 full-time and 130 646 part-time candidates sat for the 2013 examinations in 6699 exam centres.

Matric pass rate for 2012 was 73.9 per cent, an improvement of 3.7 per cent from 2011’s pass rate of 70.2 per cent.

The Independent Examinations Board’s (IEB) matric result pass rate for 2013 increased to 98.6 per cent this year from the previous year’s 98.2 per cent.
