Overgrown grass on Kliprivier finally cut

Council heeds call by Southern residents to clean up their act and deal with the issue of untidy overgrown grass.

GLENANDA – Residents in the South can breathe a sigh of relief after a team of City Parks maintenance workers were seen on February 9 attending to what had become a bush on Kliprivier Drive.

The workers said they would be cleaning up various areas in the next few weeks. This was confirmed by City Parks in January.

Complaints about long grass and unmaintained bushes had been logged in areas including Kibler Park and some parts of Glenanda.

The delay in maintenance was reported to have been caused by seasonal backlogs; however, City Parks is attempting to keep residents in affected areas informed on their maintenance schedules, which are published on their website.
