Halloween party fun for all

Glenvista ext 5 had ghosts, witches, pumpkins and wizards joining in the fun.

GLENVISTA –  A Halloween party in Glenvista ext 5 on Saturday October 31 was brilliantly organised by Glenvista and New South Resident’s Association’s Sarah Wissler, with assistance from various sponsors, who together made the event extra special (and scary)!

Residents came from all around Glenvista and surrounding areas to enjoy a fun afternoon and evening with children and adults alike dressed in spooky, scary and ghoulish attire!

Thea and Pippa Jarvis from The Love of Christ Ministries (TLC) brought children and teenagers along and Tracy Le Roux and Lousia Rafoma brought some of the children from Jackson’s Informal Settlement to join in the fun.

“It was a wonderful evening and the spirit of the community was fantastic. Residents in Glenvista 5 went out of their way to provide sweets, standing at their gates to hand them out to all the children who were trick or treating!

“Thanks to Pick n Pay Panorama Shopping Centre for food, drinks and ice creams, Dynamic Party Planners, House Hoppers for mobile toilets, Zoomariti for juices, Thyme to Dine, and Post Net Mulbarton for laminating and printing.

“To Capital Air for the helicopter flip, which was won by Glenn Keating and his family as well as SOS and D&D security, EMS and Leap Frog and Keller Williams for providing sweets,” said Sarah.

Irwin Animal Rescue Centre was also at the event raising funds for the animals in their care.

All other monies raised at the Halloween event will be used to go towards Christmas parties for children at Jackson’s Informal Settlement and TLC.

If you would like to donate food (non-perishable) and toys to make the Christmas parties happy and merry for the children or dog food for Irwin Animal Rescue Centre, please drop-off at New South Veterinary Centre, 203 Biggarsberg Street, Glenvista.

“Thanks to every single person who joined in to make the Halloween party great. Everyone had an amazing time,” added Sarah.
