Help A Stranger to the rescue

YOUNG Tre-ci Visagie and the Help A Stranger (#HAS) team donated new school shoes, stationery and pencil cases to more than140 leaners from Rosettenville Central Primary School on Saturday, February 6.
Tre-ci, a Grade 2 learner from the school, posted her plea on Facebook, requesting donations. Help A Stranger saw the post and jumped in. Tebogo Kgethe from #HAS said they are an NPO based in Mondeor and that they collect and donate clothes, shoes, sanitary pads, non-perishable food and other consumables to child-headed homes, independent charity homes, schools and strangers.
“Most of these homes do not get government subsidies and we help where we can. We saw what Tre-ci wrote on Facebook for the school, Rosettenville Central Primary School. That is why we are giving the school shoes, stationery and pencil cases,” explained Tebogo.
Tre-ci said she was happy her wish was granted. Siphelele Dzanibe, deputy principal, urged the learners to donate their old school shoes. “The school would like to thank #HAS for their noble gesture. And the old shoes will help other learners.
Ian Rehman from #HAS said he saw the smile on the face of the learners. “These shoes brought back self-esteem to the learners.
