Columbine Square Post Office has relocated to Southdale
The post office was not asked to leave the centre due to the renovation. They were asked to move to the empty store next to Woolworths.
DUE to renovations in Columbine Square Shopping Centre, Suideroord, the post office has closed its doors and is moving its whole operation to Southdale Post Office, which is in Southdale Shopping Centre, corner of Landsborough and Alamein streets, Southdale.
According to the centre’s owner, Paul Farinha, “The post office was not asked to leave the centre due to the renovation. They were asked to move to the empty store next to Woolworths. The centre’s landlord did ask them to extend their lease for a further 18 months. The Post Office, however, declined and opted to leave the centre. The landlord has, however, allowed the Post Office to leave their post boxes in Columbine Square Shopping Centre.”
“This is going to be so inconvenient for me,” said one customer who frequents the post office at least twice a week.
“Now I’ll have to go to Southdale, using more petrol and more time wasted. This post office was originally down Columbine Avenue near the Mondeor shopping centre and moved here a few years ago. It’s such a pity it’s closing down.”
Customers who are awaiting parcel deliveries to Columbine Square Post Office will be able to collect their packages from Southdale Post office. Phone 011 680 5106 for further information.
For other post office customers, they will either be able to go to Southdale or Glenvista Post Office which is situated in Glenvista Shopping Centre, Biggarsberg Street, Glenvista.
