Mondeor SAPS and CPF meeting well attended
The new sector manager to CPF Sector 1, W/O Schalk Burger, was introduced.
THE Mondeor SAPS and CPF meeting, which was held in Mulbarton recently, was well attended considering the cold weather.
An overview of crime trends was shared with the residents and they were reminded not to leave valuable possessions in view in their vehicles, as well as not to park their cars in the street.
The meeting was attended by members of Mondeor SAPS, volunteers from the CPF, as well as the Victim Support Unit.
The new sector manager for CPF Sector 1, Warrant Officer Schalk Burger, was introduced. Burger joined the service in 1991 and, after completing college as a young constable, he took a position with the Special Guard Unit in Cape Town.
In 1993 he was transferred to Soweto, joining the Train Violence Unit and then moved to the Soweto Flying Squad.
He was transferred to Mondeor in 1995 where he joined the Detectives Unit: Serious and Violent Crimes. Later he headed the Tracing Unit at Mondeor.
In 2005 he was transferred to Crime Intelligence Unit at Johannesburg Central, transferring back to Mondeor in 2008 where he joined the Vispol Unit. He also assisted with Mondeor Fleet and was a Reservist Unit coordinator.
He was welcomed at the meeting and wished well with his new appointment.
