A man was arrested for possession of firearms and ammunition at Angus Mansion Flat on April 12.
SAPS received a tip-off from a member of a community about the suspect being in possession of unlicensed firearms.
The suspect was found inside his room where SAPS recovered two unlicensed firearms as well as ammunition for pistols, a pump gun and rifle.
They also confiscated a knife, two orange reflectors, and one pair of knee covers, elbow covers, two security caps and one green face mask.
The firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to determine whether they were used in the commission of serious and violent crimes.
The investigation is under way and the suspect will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
