Etsang Dieta Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative Limited, also known as just Etsang or EDC, is a shoe manufacturing cooperative headed by five directors.

Etsang Dieta has expanded its manufacturing range from specialising in school shoes to producing fashion footwear and supplying safety shoes, diversifying their range even further.

Etsang Dieta’s key precedencies are engendering substantial wealth and skills in their growing company and lastly creating employment and transferring skills to, particularly, the young black community.

It was founded by the late Mary Nkopane in 2010, a woman fervent about shoe manufacturing and poverty reduction, who transferred her shoe manufacturing skills to four other individuals correspondingly passionate and greatly interested in this business and skill advancement endeavour.

Together they became the directors of Etsang Dieta. She emphasised excellent quality and constant innovation, which remains a tool of progress at Etsang Dieta.

They aspire to expand their business prospects once they have excelled in shoe manufacturing.

Nkopane gained her skills from her former employer, Bruno Tarasconi, who continued to guide and train Etsang Dieta in shoe production. Etsang Dieta’s first customer was the social development department, which is still the company’s biggest pivotal client. These orders have increased annually due to the advancing quality and production structures of the company.

In 2010 Etsang Dieta had 15 workers employed. Currently it has employed, trained and transferred skills to more than 50 employees. Qualifications and skills among the members beyond manufacturing include public relations, entrepreneurship, international relations, political science and human resources.
