A youth dialogue was held in Naturena Primary School on June 16 to commemorate Youth Month.

Mondeor Youth Crime Prevention Desk along with different stakeholders held a youth dialogue on drugs.

This event was held in Naturena Primary School on June 16 to commemorate Youth Month.

Mondeor SAPS, Naturena Youth Forum, Naturena CPF, Sanca Central, Department of Community Safety, Unicon Warrior 16 Foundation, COP Foundation, Masixoxe Boys and Men Forum joined in on the dialogue.

Captain Nokubonga Dube said the decision to start experimenting with drugs and alcohol is one that young people should never consider.

“The nation needs to unite against drugs. The youth was encouraged to join initiatives by different stakeholders to stamp out drugs. This could result in disciplined behaviour at home, improved grades at school and personal life within the community.

“These dialogues help to share perspectives about how to fight drug abuse and not getting involved in drugs,” she said.

“Leading the dialogue was Baldwin Boka, Bongane Fada Figa Makhubu, Charles Phasha and Taha Khanyile.

Organisers would like to thank United Aid Foundation for food donations made towards the event,” said Dube.

Community coming out on June 16.
