Rapid Covid-19 testing at Glenvista Country Club

Healthcare worker Genevieve Durand from Mobi-Med SA is doing rapid Covid-19 testing at Glenvista Country Club.

“It’s a 15-minute test and if it’s inconclusive we advise people to go for a more conclusive test, which is the PCR test which can be done at any lab. We have been doing this for three days at the country club and are doing about 85 to 100 tests a day,” said Durand.

She said they even go into the evening to people’s houses to do the test since the third wave has started.

“It is R350 and we do not just test and send people off, but we give advice as well on how to manage the symptoms of what to do and what they should not do. We will be doing this until June 25 and already people are coming in numbers since the virus is on the rise,” she said.

With the procedure, they use a nasal swab and it is dropped in a tester, and in 15 minutes, they have your results.
“We advise people to get tested to know their status. We are in the third wave and in this way you can get treatment quickly and be isolated,” she said.
