WATCH: Agrizzi to be assessed by an independent medical investigation

Former BOSASA COO Angelo Aggrizzi’s fraud case has been postponed to December 2 by the Palm Ridge Specialised Crime Court on November 2.

Agrizzi failed to appear in court citing ill health. It has been over nine months since Agrizzi’s last appearance in court.

The court will, through the State’s request, acquire the services of an independent physician to assess Agrizzi’s condition.

A warrant for his arrest has been issued, which has been stayed until the next appearance on December 2.

Agrizzi stands accused of offering gratification on behalf of BOSASA to former parliamentarian Vincent Smith in exchange for his influence, as the then chairperson of parliament’s oversight committee on Correctional Services.

BOSASA scored contracts totalling just over R1-billion from Correctional Services between 2004 and 2007.
