SAPS was joined by members from EMPD, the CPF and security officers from local security companies, namely ADT, CPS, Fox and 4th Dimension. Grid Hawk and Sentinel later joined the integrated operation.
The operation commenced with an integrated vehicle checkpoint on Swartkoppies Road, followed by random stops and searches and target area patrols. The officers also visited a daycare centre in Thinasonke.
SAPS members distributed 200 pamphlets to raise the communities’ level of awareness on gender-based violence, vehicle-related crimes and general safety tips.
