WATCH: Active Youngins Foundation donates school shoes
Rosettenville Central Primary School learners benefited from Active Youngins Foundation's programmes.
Active Youngins Foundation (AYF) has made it a ritual that every year it donates school shoes, sanitary towels and stationery to schools in Johannesburg South, Region F.
Carol Mbokodo, the chairperson of AYF, said the organisation has partnered with individuals and businesses who are passionate about education programmes and school empowerment.
“We have made it our mission that no child will go to school without shoes and through working together with our communities, we want to take every child back to school,” she said.
Since its establishment in 2020, AYF has made a huge difference to the community of Region F by raising awareness against gender-based violence using youth who are in the creative industry to spread the word.
The organisation also conducts community dialogues about GBV.
“AYF would like to send a special thanks to various stakeholders and individuals, including OK Value, Rosettenville Pawn Shop, Rio Douro Fisheries and everyone who have donated to the project.”
Founder of AYF Jimmy Ntuli said this was the second round of shoes donated. With the first outreach, they partnered with the Erasmus family to deliver 10 full stationery packs to 10 learners from the community of Rosettenville last week.
