Alberton High rugby player selected for Golden Lions
Alberton High School’s Adrian Faure will now be playing in the provincial level after being selected for Golden Lions.
Adrian Faure (15) is making great strides in his rugby career.
The Grade Nine Alberton High learner, who started playing for the school’s U15 rugby team and was appointed as captain, will now be part of the Golden Lions’ U15 squad.
He was recently selected to play for the Golden Lions after taking part in the club’s trial games.

“I took inspiration from my coach and from there I went to Alberton Rugby Club. It’s a privilege to be playing rugby at the provincial level and an honour to inspire my schoolmates,” said Adrian.
Adrian has forever loved sports. He started with soccer from a tender age and later joined rugby.

“My message to other budding rugby players is that they should keep pushing and striving, their time will come. I wish to one day see myself playing for the Springboks. Serving as the captain has shown me the right path for my rugby career.”
He reiterated that his biggest supporter is his sister, Tatum Faure, who is also a learner at the school.
