Rietvlei Soccer School victorious in a friendly tournament
Emotions ran high as local football clubs battled it out during a friendly tournament in Turffontein.
Rietvlei Soccer School was declared the overall winner after a 1-0 victory against South Side Stars FC in the finals on October 29.
A knockout-friendly tournament which featured four local teams, hosted by South Side Stars FC, was declared a massive success.

The tournament featured local football giants which came from Kempton Park, Diepkloof and Alberton.
Kempton Park FC took on Rietvlei Soccer School, succumbing to a loss in the first round, with South Side Stars FC hammering Diplomat FC leading up to the finals.

The winning team of the tournament walked away with a trophy, medals and a cash prize to help equip their team for the next season.
According to coach Natalia Bedderson of South Side Stars FC, this was their year-end game for the season.

“Some teams have suffered and have worked hard during the league, so we decided to have one for all the players and teams that didn’t get any trophies during the league. This is also for them to have a bit of fun before Christmas. As organisers of the tournament, we are here to help our boys and to make sure they prosper in the sport,” she said.

She said they always make sure that they have players that join and that through these games they manage to get them off the streets while also developing them in the sport.
